Outdoor Emergency Care Management - 424

Intended for people who wish or are required, to manage emergency care for a period of 2 to 12 hours during an outdoor recreation activity.

Group management can be challenging - our course can give you some hands on training in handling groups and leading. Pre-planning and communication are important when going into the outdoors - these are discussed and we can give you some great ideas and information.


Who would benefit from the Outdoor Emergency Care Management course?

Anyone that spends time in the outdoors either for work or recreation, including Scout and Guide leaders, DOC staff, Park Rangers, Land SAR, tramping groups and Outdoor Instructors.

We can teach anywhere, from the bush in the winter-less North to the North Island central plateau or Stewart Island. Teaching in the environment that you work or play in is the best way to practise the skills.

  • Current First Aid certificate (NZQA unit standards 26551, 26552, 6400 or 6401,6402, 6400). Please provide evidence of this on the day of the course.
