Customer Feedback
Hi Andre and your team,
I would like to thank you all so much for the amazing help you gave me when I broke both my legs at a mountain bike race at Mt Hutt. It was a very stressful time for me but you guys had all the expert knowledge and gear to prepare me for the transfer into the helicopter I had never truly considered the importance of the first aid crew behind the scenes at every race but now I tell all my mates how great you were. Cheers Dan My experience. We all know why we do first aid courses – to be able to assist if and when there is an accident. I am also sure, that like me you wish to never need use it. Unfortunately I was witness and therefore first on the scene for a truck roll. I thankfully remembered my training from firstly keeping myself safe to how to deal with a serious chest injury and abdominal injuries caused by the driver being thrown from the vehicle. This was on a major highway, 30 minutes from the nearest ambulance and other emergency services; there were also no mobile phone service where we were. It took 35 minutes for the first paramedic to arrive at the site and over an hour for the helicopter. I would like to thank Triple One Care and my tutor Brian Robinson for preparing me so well for a real life accident experience. I would strongly recommend a Triple One Care first aid course, it certainly helped me deal with this situation. Name Removed.. Tapawera (Nelson) 4 April 2012 Hi Andre Many thanks to you and your team for the good first aid work at Mt Hutt for the downhill race. It was reassuring to know that we had a well-trained team in place to deal with the various crashes. As it ended up, you had a fairly solid day's work on Saturday - not the sort of accident rate we like to see at downhill races, but that's part of the risk and appeal of the sport! Both Dan and Hunter are alright. Hunter went home from hospital today with a mild head injury (concussion) and Dan is recuperating well after surgery on his broken femur, and his broken tibia and fibula. I know their parents are grateful also to your team, along with the rider doctor (Tom Francis) whom I have also written to thank. Please pass on our thanks to the rest of your team.
